Hoarafushi

Nestled in the remote northernmost atoll of Haa Alif, at the edge of the Maldives, is the idyllic, peaceful village island of Hoarafushi. The island has a population of around 3,600 inhabitants. There are a few guesthouses on the island. It has its airport, health centre, several restaurants and cafes, and a bus service. The island has a rich cultural history and a hospitable society, welcoming visitors. The island is generally quiet, but especially during times of celebration such as Eid al-Adha. The island has one of the nicest beaches in the Maldives.
